Dressember Days 8 and 9: BUSY
I didn't manage to get any time to do my Dressember post yesterday, breaking my post a day streak. Oh well, you can't have everything I suppose. I had a really busy work day yesterday, and I'm just taking a break from an equally busy day to post now. I am busy organising two full weeks of meetings and review panels for the first two weeks of January and it's a daunting task - but at least it keeps me out of trouble, anyway.

Thankfully I managed to miss the horrible torrential rain yesterday and I remembered to take my camera into work so I got a daylight photo! Many thanks to my lovely friend and colleague SJ for taking the photo:

Fever Cote d'Azur Collar dress and Firetrap Desire shoes

I bought this dress on ebay and the tags had been removed, and I think it's a size bigger than I would usually wear. It feels a bit loose, especially around the bodice. But no matter, because it means there's room underneath to wear another layer, which is becoming more and more necessary! I love the colours in this dress and the shape so even though it isn't the most flattering in my collection, it's still a keeper. The gorgeous shoes were a Christmas present from my brother a few Christmases ago - hasn't he got good taste?! I wear these lots in the winter because the patent leather makes them quite practical, and they go with everything.

After a very busy day at work, and a delayed train home, I just had time to eat my dinner before dashing back out for an evening round at Hayley's house with Lauren and Hannah to watch Bridesmaids. It was a brilliant evening, and just what I needed after a week in which I was still feeling under par.

I'm working from home today and although I have lots and lots to do, it's nice to be able to do it by the light of the Christmas tree. I chanced bare legs as I knew I wouldn't have to go out much - but when I go out later to pick up food for dinner I'm going to have to add tights to my ensemble. That's a cold wind out there, folks!

Not too much to say about this one, except it was really cheap in the sale and I was very pleasantly surprised by its quality. The fabric is a lovely heavy twill and, although I didn't get a photo of it, I love the zip - it's metal, and slightly exposed, and it just looks excellent. I'd like it if the dress were a shade longer - anyone taller than me would probably find this too short. But, it has POCKETS, and you know how that makes me feel:

I've been working hard today, and I've still got a fair few things to do before it's quitting time. That doesn't seem so hard when I'm at home, though. I will dash off and do that now, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for Day 10. Happy Friday, everyone!
